You’ll need:
- Simply Refresh for windows and doors
- Floor and furniture dust sheets
- Triangular shave hook
- Masking tape
- Screwdriver
- Cloth
- Degreaser
- Sand paper and sanding block
- Sealer
- Brush
- Small roller
- Paint tray
- Paint stirrer
1. Prepare
To safeguard your floor and any adjacent furniture, start by placing down dust sheets. Next, remove any outdated sealant and use a shaving hook to scrape off any loose or flaking paint. Cover or take off doorknobs, handles, catches, hinges, and locks with tape.
After using a degreaser to thoroughly clean your woodwork of any remaining dirt, dust, or grease, allow it to dry. To get rid of the dust, lightly sand the wood and then wipe it again.
Using a putty knife, carefully tuck the tape into the corners to mask off any edges where the glass meets the frame. For clean, precise lines, keep your knife firmly positioned while you tear the tape. Additionally, cover the frame's wall-to-wood margins, reapply sealant to any areas where glass meets wood, and use a sponge to smooth it all out. Please see the label for details on drying times.
2. Paint
You may save time and money by using Simply Refresh instead of priming.
First, thoroughly stir your Simply Refresh paint before adding it to the paint tray. Apply the colour of your choice on your door or window with a brush. When painting a door, use a small roller for the bigger sections after beginning with a brush for the more intricate regions. Stroke upward to prevent leaking.
3. Clean
Remove the masking tape carefully, then wipe off any paint that has come into contact with the glass.
Since Simply Refresh is water-based, you can use water to thoroughly wash your brush and roller after removing as much paint as possible from them. White spirit is not necessary.
Make sure your paint can is tightly closed and kept somewhere dry and clear of frost.
